Bernheim will be a buzz with all sorts of fun as we explore insects and other little crawly things. Free programs and activities at the Visitor Center from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. will celebrate our diminutive neighbors. Time: 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Fall is one of the best times of the year for planting and BernheimÕs Fall Plant Sale is one of the best places to acquire unique plants. The sale will feature an extended list of Bernheim SelectTM Landscape plants. Trees and shrubs range for $10-$30. Members shop one hour early 8:00 am - 9:00 am, open to public 9am-4pm.

The nation's largest Machine Gun Shoot & Military Gun Show. The participants are machine gun dealers, collectors, and enthusiasts from all over the country. The Machine Gun Shoot itself, consists of four rounds of firing at a wide variety of appliances , vehicles and barrels of fuel with pyrotechnic charges attached. The pyrotechnic charges are then painted fluorescent orange for the shooter to see. The charges are set off by the impact of the bullets. The military gun show has drawn dealers from across the country to buy, sell and trade rifles, pistols, shotguns & machine guns. They will also be selling ammo, military surplus & hard to find gun parts. The show consists of over 800 tables and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On the first and third Saturday of every month between 1:00 - 4:00 pm, volunteers in Bernheim's Naturalists-In-Training program lead fun and entertaining Nature Exploration Stations at the Visitor Center. Both children and adults enjoy the varied interpretations of the nature of Bernheim at these events. These programs offer changing experiences each month. You might get to stroke a snake, look a toad in eye, hear hidden stories in plants and trees, figure out the food chain, and discover a whole lot more about your connections with nature. And you can get in touch with your natural creativity through take home nature inspired craft projects. Ages 5 and up.
